Exciting Winter Activities

Italian Job, Courmayeur and Chamonix

This is an evening of great fun, excitement and delicious Italian food. At around 6pm you will be picked up from the hotel. You will be taken through the famous Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy. Once in Courmayeur at the bottom of the slopes the group will be driven up to a lovely mountain restaurant by skidoo! This is an exciting and picturesque trip at night. The restaurant is a lovely rustic, informal but fun location. On arrival you will be greeted by the warm hospitality of the owners. You will be served a delicious and traditional 3 course meal with wine and finished off with a sip of the famous “grolla”. Often the evening finishes with dancing on the bar!

Italian Job Night

For those who have not had too much to drink there will be a guided torch lit ski descent or alternatively there will be skidoos on hand for a more relaxed trip down. This is a great fun and memorable evening!

Igloo adventure, Zermatt

2727m up in the Alps in the unique igloo village for the night…This is a truly unique and exciting itinerary that can be tailored to the size and dynamic of the group. As a minimum you will be escorted by train or ski to the Igloo village. We can then organise a Winter Olympics with on-mountain branding and up to 10 activities with prize giving ceremony. This is followed by a delicious Swiss fondue with all the trimmings and drinks before settling into your bedroom igloo for the night or take one of the most breathtaking Jacuzzi’s we have experienced looking straight up at the Matterhorn in pure mountain silence. You are then woken up with a cup of tea in your igloo and then the ski or walk down to a nearby hotel for a hearty breakfast to set you up for a full day’s skiing. This is then topped off with a night in 5* luxury for some well-earned pampering. An experience that your guests will never forget!

Snow shoeing by moonlight to a mountain refuge

Les Vieilles Luges is a truly gorgeous mountain refuge run by Julie and Claude. In order to reach it we will guide the group up by moonlight with head torches and snow shoes for a slow 25 minute walk up hill to the refuge. You will be greeted by warmth and hospitality in this authentic and beautifully restored building. Julie home cooks authentic Savoyard mountain dishes such as the delicious and hearty Farcon. You will enjoy a delicious 3 course meal and will definitely feel like the walk down to burn off a few calories. This is a magical evening!

Winter Biathalon

The Biathlon is a Winter Olympic sport (similar to the summer Triathlon). It usually combines cross-country skiing and small-bore rifle marksmanship. We adapt it to your group as a great fun activity using snow-shoeing instead of cross-country skiing.

Biathlon

You will run in snowshoes and stop at the shooting range to shoot two or four times. The shooting distance is always 50 m and five rounds are fired in each bout at five targets.

Don't worry ! You will not have to run too far but you will have fun using the biathlon equipment. The objective is to get a flavour of a real Biathlon but the priority is to have fun!

Husky Dog Sledding

Following a private minibus transfer of approx 40 min to Les Caroz you will meet the professional mushers and what will be your huskies for the afternoon.

Huskies

This is all about fun and control. Each sledge has a team of huskies. You will first all have a lesson on how to “mush”. Then after your lesson you will take off on your own, following a guide on a mini husky trek.

These dogs have been bred and perfected, as working dogs, over many generations. They want to pull you and they want to go off in a straight line. It's a sport that's becoming more and more popular and local dog mushers are heavily booked. This is not a sport of speed - it's just a little more than walking pace - the pleasure comes from being with these amazing dogs, enjoying the freedom of mushing your own sled and in some of the most breathtaking scenery!

This amazing afternoon mushing experience will be finished off with a traditional 3 course feast in a local restaurant with wine and liqueurs before heading back by private minibus to resort.

Paragliding

This is a must do in the Alps if you’re brave enough. It is not as scary as you would think though as you are in a very comfortable harness below your pilot. As you start to run the canopy inflates before you leave the edge so you don’t get the dropping sensation you get with sky diving. The flight last about 25 minutes and the views are absolutely amazing. Just sit back and enjoy the ride whilst taking some pictures. You will be given the chance to steer if you would like. Have fun!

Panoramic Helicopter Flight

This is absolutely amazing if your budget can stretch! With 5 people max in each helicopter we will take 2 groups of 4 on a breathtaking 30min helicopter flight to the summit of Mont Blanc (4810m), the highest mountain in Western Europe. Soaring above the glaciers, Aiguille Rouge and les trois Mont Blanc until you hover above the famous curved summit. SPECTACULAR! This is also available in Switzerland and Austria

Heliskiing

For advanced or experienced off-piste skiers you seriously can’t beat heliskiing. Escape the hustle and bustle of the pistes and adventure into the tranquility of the back country or onto the stunning glaciers and its fresh, untracked powder. Accompanied by a fully qualified high mountain guide you can pick the amount of drops you would like to do. If you can stretch the budget to 3 it makes for a truly fulfilling experience. You’ll find it difficult to revert back to the piste after you heliskiing experience.

Snowshoeing adventure with lunch

Snow shoeing is a great way for those preferring not to ski to see the stunning back country and wildlife. Generally you would hike for around 2 hours but this can be tailored to the group. After all the mountain air and exercise we will finish with a delicious mountain lunch.  Snowshoes are attachments to a pair of walking boots or hiking boots. They used to look rather like the head of a tennis racket but these days they are very trendy, streamlined pieces of equipment generally made by Salomon.
